Device Roles in the Booth.Events App
When you open the iOS app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, it can run in one of three roles:
Everything
Captures photos/videos (“capture”)
Lets guests preview & reshoot (“preview”)
Lets guests enter their info to receive their photos (“share”)
Camera Station
Captures and previews
Does not handle sharing
Share Station
Does not capture or preview
Displays the event gallery with the newest photos/videos at the top
Guests can walk up, find their photo, and send it to themselves
Works with photos from any capture device (Camera Station or Everything role)
Cannot run on iPhones — only iPads or Macs
Recommended Setups

For 360 spinners:
Use Camera Station role on an iPhone.
Add an iPad in Share Station role nearby for guests.
For events with multiple iPads:
Have one Capture Station.
All other iPads should be Share Stations.
Licenses
Licenses
Each Booth.Events plan includes a set number of Active iPad licenses.
Every iPad at the event needs its own license (even if they’re all at the same event).
Basic Plan – Cannot use multiple devices
Pro Plan – Unlimited iPhones, 1 iPad.
Cannot add extra iPads - must upgrade for more.
Pro+ Plan – Unlimited iPhones, 4 iPads.
Can pay to add more iPads any time (hit ? → Ask Us in the app).

On the “What should this iPad do?” screen, you can adjust:

Latest Section – Turn off to hide the large top section with the QR code.
Original Photos – Turn off to hide original files from the gallery.
Grouping by Session – Turn off to get a single vertical scrolling gallery instead of rows that scroll left/right.

Using the Share Station
Using the Share Station
To exit, hold down two fingers on the screen for a few seconds (same as exiting an event).
Guests can scan the QR code to open the most recent session on their phone.
If your gallery has a passcode, guests will be prompted to enter it.
We recommend placing a sign with the passcode near the Share Station.
The view auto-updates instantly when new uploads finish (no refresh button needed).
This is a server push, not a timed refresh — no delays.
Photos/videos load as guests scroll.
When a guest taps a photo/video:
The full-resolution version downloads.
Guests can take the actions you’ve enabled for the event
Touching one photo opens all of the photos of that session, when grouping is on (default)
